    Highlights
Rosewood Assisted Living Community is located just off Scalp Avenue in Richland Township, near Johnstown, PA, within a mile of US Rt. 219. We have been open since 2000, and have a reputation for impeccable care and facility cleanliness. Realizing that there are few things worse than entering a facility only to be greeted by urine or feces odors, we work diligently to ensure that this is something our residents and their families never have to endure. To that end, we have a full time housekeeping staff that is responsible for light housekeeping of each resident room and the cleanliness of all common areas. We also have a full time activities staff and a broad range of daily activities (typically 5-7 per day) highlighted by bingo, brain games, shopping trips, off property excursions, outdoor activities (weather permitting), live entertainment (typically once per week), holiday parties, movie nights, weekly religious services, and a daily rosary group. We have a full time medical secretary who is responsible for tracking resident doctor appointments, and can assist with the logistics of arranging transportation. Our Director of Nursing is a full time LPN who is responsible for all care issues and acts as a liaison between residents and their physicians to ensure the highest quality of care for all. She also oversees all medication administration for our residents to minimize the risk of medication errors. Our Dining Services staff is responsible for ensuring that all dietary restrictions ordered by physicians are followed, and is known for serving exceptional food. Unique Amenities: 1) Each resident room is equipped with free cable television and free telephone service, including local calls. 2) Each resident room is equipped with an HVAC (heating and air conditioning) with an adjustable thermostat for resident comfort. 3) Each resident room is equipped with a private bathroom, some of which are wheelchair accessible. 4) Our dining room is beautifully appointed and has fresh linens for each meal. 5) Residents can use our laundry services ($4/load of personal clothing), or are welcome to use our facilities themselves (or by family members) free of charge. 6) Our onsite beautician has hours twice per week, and is able to do virtually any service from colorings to permanents, to regular haircuts. 7) Our Activities Room is bathed in natural light, and has an aviary with several live birds. 8) Our facility is attached to a full-service hotel with a fitness center and pool. All residents are welcome to use the pool and fitness center free of charge. 9) We accept Veterans Benefits (Aid & Attendance Pension), and can assist residents and their families with the VA application. Those who qualify for the pension may be eligible to receive a short-term discount until the benefits are granted by VA.
