    Highlights
Cross Road Retirement Community is nestled on 32 acres in rural Randolph County, North Carolina. Our campus includes a 100 bed assisted living center, a stand alone 36 bed Alzheimer's Care Center, 67 ground level independent living apartments, Shepherd's Way Day School and Eagle Oaks, a 6 bed group home for adult women. We are located 2 miles from the NC Zoo in Asheboro, North Carolina. The major cities of Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham are all within 70 miles of our campus. Cross Road Retirement Community supports the philosophy of The Eden Alternative that floods our living space with plants, animals and children. The Assisted Living and Alzheimer's Care Center are home to 2 dogs, 4 cats, 3 goats and numerous birds. The children from Shepherd's Way Day School are regular visitors to our facilities. Residents have the opportunity to volunteer at the school to help with reading or just to rock the babies. The apartment residents and assisted living residents go on field trips every week from shopping and eating out to museum's and picking strawberries. Devotions are held every morning with gospel music groups singing nearly every night of the week. We provide transportation for shopping, local doctors visits, pharmacy pick-up and many other things at no cost to our residents. As a not-for-profit ministry, our obligation is on our residents, not stock holders. We offer a state-of-the-art Alzheimer's Care Center recognized for it's "progressive leadership" in Alzheimer's Care by The Piedmont-Triad Council of Governments. Our apartment residents enjoy maintenance free living with all utilities included except for cable and telephone. Our residents operate the "General Store" on our campus that sells everything from resident crafts to milk and ice cream. Our apartments are licensed as "multi-service" meaning you can contract with staff for help in bathing, medication administration, laundry and other services. Apartment residents may dine with us in the assisted living center or have meals delivered to their apartment. Our assisted living center and Alzheimer's Care Center are licensed as Adult Care Homes by the State of North Carolina. The assisted living center, Alzheimer's Care Center and apartments each have activity programs designed specifically for them. We have 2 full time activity directors and 2 assistants. As a service to the community we offer a "Caregiver's Day Out Program" that operates 4 days a week for 6 hours a day for those caring for a loved one with dementia at home. This secure and active program costs only $40 a week. Once you see our campus it's not hard to see why our residents love the quiet beauty of country living.
